Saints Nation Guru: Fan Predictions for Giants Game
For the second straight week MarijnPessers has won the Saints Nation Guru award and it's vaulted him alone atop the standings with two victories this season. As Drew Brees has completely imploded, Marijn has done the exact opposite and gotten hot with his prognostication skills. I can only be left to assume he made a deal with the devil to sacrifice Drew Brees performance for a $50 gift card. Selfish trade if you ask me.
OK more seriously: here's how Saints Nation Guru works. Every week I ask four questions plus a bonus question for tie breaking purposes. The winner gets recognition in the following week's post (or insulted if he's Marijn, haha). At the end of the season, the person with the most weekly wins will win a $50 gift card from the NFL shop to buy Saints gear. As mentioned, MarijnPessers currently leads the charge with 2 weekly Saints Nation Guru titles. So with four games left this season you can still easily catch him. Here are the prediction questions for this week:
1. Which player will lead the Giants in receiving yards?
2. Which player will record the Saints' last sack of the game (you can also predict the Saints will not record a sack all game long)?
3. Who will score the Saints' first touchdown?
4. How many turnovers will Drew Brees have?
BONUS: How many yards will Eli Manning pass for?

Well... I was right on a team scoring more then 50 points! Hey guru me! Although I was dead wrong :-(. Btw I would like to note that I predicted a 56-23 score, 79 points scored. This game had exactly 79 points scored... Yay me right? Ugh...
Weird game then your Punter has the same amount of tackles as a couple of starters on the defense.
Some predictions for the rest of the year; with the season over I smell some cuts coming next week and see who will get a chance to prove himself in the last 3 games of the season. Extended training camp beginning tomorrow I say. Loose the other 3 games too guys! We need a high draft pick!
On players with more playing time... I am thinking Higgins will see some extended playing time. Also Morgan will get a lot more playing time (the guy is the only one who proved he can catch compared to the preseason.. Go figure!). He is the perfect replacement for Henderson. Bye bye Devery. I see no reason why to keep an expensive player as 3rd receiver when you have Morgan. I would play Ingram A LOT too and increase his value in trade and trade him in the off-season. Save money and let some team use him as he was supposed too, this is just a waste of talent.
Was the day only bad?? No the Falcons lost to the Panthers! So that was nice at least!
To the answers:
1: It was Cruz for 121 yards. Greer was not always on him and Patrick and Greer were not good enough. Drop off from last week so Cruz got plenty of yards. Nicks was a distans 2nd with 67 yards, Number of correct answers: A bunch! (5)
2: No sacks on Manning... Well if your WRs are not covered there is no need to hold on to the ball. 1 Correct answer by me.
3: Well.. nobody had that right. Elbert Mack. Good start to the game. It was pretty much down hill from there.
4: 2. First one I do not put on Brees since It was Grahams fuckup. Brees was perfect on that one. It was Graham who fucked up (more then once btw). If I were interim head coach I would have benched him for the rest of the game. But the 2nd Brees threw makes him deserve the 2 big time. That was an awful throw. Brees misses Payton to help him focus. 1 Correct answer by Eliza18s.
Since I had Cruz wrong and Eliza18s had that right she is the only one with 2 correct answers and wins this weeks Guru title. I think she had no victory yet? So unless I am wrong she joins nearly everyone at the second place in the Guru rankings for the season.
Just as a formality, the bonus question: Manning threw for pretty much considering they had short yardage nearly all of the time. 259 yards. Closest was Elimanov with 250 yards.
Well there will be 3 guru weeks left. No offseason for the Saints guys. Feels weird. For me this is the only time the Saints are not in the playoffs.

Wow.. Just realized that I'm the only one optimistic about Brees hanging on to the football.. Depressing times we have here..
the real question is how many giants players will burn in hell for eternity for living a sinful life in the modern day gomorrah that is new york city. and the answer is all of them.

This is just in. Giant Defense blows! They could not get me 6 fantasy points to give me the lead in my fantasy league. I am NOT crediting them with any turnovers. So I change my answer to question number 3. 0 Zero turnovers caused by Brees. Saints are gonna smoke the Giants as they have done the last 2 times they met em. I even dare to say the Saints are gonna score 50+ points on them. 56-23 is my prediction!
