It's now a three way tie in the standings with Eliza18s taking the title last week. We now have JamesMorse, MarijnPessers and Eliza18s vying for the title, with a few still having a shot at getting in the mix in this final week. We'll talk more about breaking the tie when the season is over.
Here's how Saints Nation Guru works. Every week I ask four questions plus a bonus question for tie breaking purposes. The winner gets recognition in the following week's post, and gets added to the overall standings with weekly wins. At the end of the season, the person with the most weekly wins will receive a $50 gift card to the NFL store to purchase Saints gear (hopefully). To enter, write your predictions in the comment section. Here are this week's questions for the road game against the Panthers:
1. Who will lead the Saints in yards rushing with Pierre Thomas out? (Ivory, Ingram or Sproles)
2. Who will lead the Saints in receptions in this game?
3. Who will lead the team in tackles not counting Curtis Lofton?
4. Who will register the Saints' first interception (you can also predict no INTs)?
Bonus: How many yards passing will Brees have?
1. MarijnPessers 2
1. JamesMorse 2
1. Eliza18s 2
4. swebbmann 1
4. AllisonSmith 1
4. Ellmanov 1
4. SaintsNation 1
So the Saints played bad. Defense was sucky at best. Well we gotten a higher draft pick out of it I guess. So not all is lost.
What is lost though... Thomas Morstead his net yardage per punt average season record. He had a few short punts to start with and it was still close. But then one got returned for a gazilion yards and I stopped keeping track. :-( Well he is goint to the probowl That is at least something.
To the answers:
1: Rushing yards leader is Ingram with 39 yards. Sure Ivory has 5.5 yards per carry but it is a question of reps and if you followed the season you knew that would be Ingram. Correct answers: CoreyWilson, Me, Ms. Juge. ... And you call yourself an expert Andrew?
2: Receptions. Dispite an other game with drops the answer is Graham with 9. Moore had more yardage but with only 4 receptions and Sproles was 2nd with 8 receptions. One more point for Ms. Juge.
3: Lead Tackler was Roman Harper with 6 tackles., Patrick had 5 (because Newton kept going his way) and IAQ was 3rd with 4. CoreyWilson and Andrew Juge had those right. Riight now it is a tie between Mr Juge and Corey Wilson.
4: Vilma had the one and only Int. Nobody ever thought of that so no correct answers.
We have a tie and it goes to the Bonus question:
Brees had 396 yards passing. Again, as nearly always I was closest to that number. But I only had 1 correct answer. The closest that counts is... by 5 yards ... 340 over 335... Ms Juge!
Elizabeth, congratulations! You just won 50$ from your husband!
Andrew! You do NOT have a comeback for this: I am in a three-way with your wife! BOOM! (Sorry Elizabeth, no offense, just had to say that to your husband!)
