Saints Nation: The NFL Reinstates Sean Payton, Effective Immediately

Written by Andrew Juge on .

Some unexpected good news just hit twitter, as NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello has announced Sean Payton's reinstatement as head football coach of the New Orleans Saints, effective immediately. This comes two weeks early as he was scheduled to come off suspension after the Super Bowl was completed. The move, which is possibly damage control and an olive branch by Roger Goodell prior to heading to New Orleans before the Super Bowl, came to the surprise of many as it caught most by surprise, including Saints GM Mickey Loomis

Now that Payton is back on board...

the only bounty related item that still lacks resolution is the Saints' 2nd round pick, which we're still hopeful will be returned. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Welcome back coach Payton!

The offseason is off to a good start. First the Falcons blow the biggest lead in an NFC championship ever, then Payton is back!

YES INDEED!  This means we should all welcome Goodell with posters of Sean all over the city... in every establishment, on every light pole, so that man has to look at his face everywhere he goes.  We need to color this city black and gold, wear our black and gold, and show our unyielding support.  We should also throw a Payton parade while he's here... it IS Mardi Gras, you know...
